I almost told him I'm in love with him. The only thing that stopped me was knowing he doesn't love me back.

It's terrible, that knowing. And I'm not going to be like the normal Tangst commenter and just tell you either "go for it" or "stop whining." You probably made the right decision, however sad it may be.
Unrequited love is a story too often told.
Well, I hate to be one of "those commentors" but I do think you should tell them anyway. It's not doing you any good to remain silent. Who knows--it could change something. But it will never change if you don't say anything.
My god, if only I could take my own advice.
I think it kind of depends on how it would make you feel rather than the reaction. I told someone, and I feel better just knowing I got it off my chest.
I'm not being one of "those commentors"...am I?
well, if you KNOW then you might just want to forget about it.
If there's a chance then..ugh..."go for it"
There's a chance that he feels the same. But he's dating someone right now and I don't want to ruin that.
Haha I went through this identical situation -- the whole thing and unrequited l.ove. And you know what? I thought that nothing would ever come from it but I was wrong. I actually did manage to change her mind for a short (well... exceedingly short , darn close to infinitesmal) amount of time. And even though she didn't really change anything, the conversation felt really good. I would suggest from fresh, recent, personal experience to go for it.
